— Sammy Reid, CFA, Investment Consultant, AON
Marc LeFebvre, CFA earned his CFA designation in 1994 after passing all three exam levels consecutively. In 1995, he began teaching CFA review courses to European private bank candidates. For nearly three decades, Marc has helped tens of thousands of candidates achieve their goal of earning the CFA designation.
While he was teaching CFA review courses around the globe, Marc worked as an investment professional in investment banking, corporate strategic development, pension administration and private wealth management.
Marc earned his M.S. in Finance from Boston College Carroll School of Management and his Bachelor of Art in Economics, cum laude from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Marc served as a professor of practice for both resident and online undergraduate and graduate finance courses at a Midwest university for over a decade.
When Marc isn’t helping Level III CFA candidates past the CFA exam, he is an avid cyclist, competing in gravel, mountain (Leadville Mtb100) and road races. In addition, Marc has also run many marathons (Boston) and competed in several Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Kona HI… so he knows a little about accomplishing “hard things”. He puts this knowledge to work helping candidates.
Details, details, details – they all matter! To achieve success on the CFA exam. Marc’s approach is CFA Program curriculum centric. Marc learned there are no shortcuts such as using question banks and mock exams. The LevelUp approach focuses on learning the curriculum and working the hard problems and examples. As years of experience accrued, Marc has witnessed candidates stray from the curriculum with review notes and move away from a comprehensive understanding of the complexity of the Level III exam. He saw the need for a different approach to preparing the Level III candidate for success, so he founded LevelUp in 2014 with the mission to help guide the Level III candidate through the CFA Program curriculum.
